School Admissions

We are a wonderful small school, located in the beautiful rural town of Alcester.

We are very proud to be part of the Our Lady Of The Magnificat Multi-Academy, which provides our children and staff opportunities to form close partnerships with local schools within the area.

At Our Lady's we have created a nurturing, caring and vibrant school community providing our children with varied ways to learn and grow academically, socially and spiritually.  Our children leave us in Year 6 as well-rounded and confident individuals with a love for learning.   We have strong links with the local community, working together to provide our children access to experiences that enrich their learning and having fun along the way.

Our Lady of the Magnificat Multi-Academy is the admission authority for all the schools within the Trust and is responsible for determining the admissions policy. On behalf of the Academy the admissions process is coordinated by Warwickshire County Council.

An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available spaces. An application should be made via the local authority by completing the in-year admissions application form which is available by clicking here

As a Catholic School, parents will also need to complete a Supplementary Information Form in addition to the standard application form that is submitted to the local authority. Supplementary Information Forms can be obtained from the school's website, this will be found in the In-Year Admissions section, or a hard copy can be provided on request by contacting the school office on 01789-762555 or ola-office@ola.magnificat.org.uk. Supplementary Information Forms must be returned directly to the school, Our Lady's Catholic Primary School, St Faiths Road, Alcester, B49 6AG. If a Supplementary Information Form is not submitted directly to the school this may affect the priority given to the application and could affect the likelihood of your child offered a place.

The local authority will forward your application to the school for consideration by the governors.

Where the are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the admission arrangements for 2023/2024 will be applied. Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application.

If there are no places available, the local authority will notify you of this decision on behalf of the governors and the child will be added to the waiting list.

You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible. Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of its receipt.

You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application is unsuccessful.

If you have any questions in relation to in-year admisssions please contact the school on 01789-762555. You may also wish to discuss in-year applications with the local authority 0926-414143.

As an Academy we welcome applications from all parents and carers, regardless of faith or background, who would like their children to be educated in a Christian environment.
